blizzardtongue This album is easily one of my favourites. Beautifully haunting, there's a brilliant juxtaposition between the soft vocal style and at times harsh guitar tone. I'd absolutely recommend buying this album! Favorite track: Part Island.

GW Whitehead This will be in my top 10 at the end of year! This band keeps growing and getting better every record. Phenomenal Post Metal with a tinge of Black and some cleans leading the way on this one. Cinematic, great to just sit back and take these guy on!

Blackened Toast This is truly a wonderful bit of melancholy post metal, with excellent vocals and concise yet expansive songwriting.
Barf Carcass

Barf Carcass Here Latitudes has – building on "Old Sunlight" – prioritized texture over technical wizardry. The sonic synergy achieved at particular moments more than compensates for the weaker songs/moments. Favorite track: Underlie.

falo3000 This is easily in the Top5 of my best albums ever list! Awesome how this Band develops and makes a step forward with every single album.
The only criticism one could have is that there are only 6 trax. I want MORE and hopefully a European Tour.

Wez Barber Didn’t think that old sunlight could ever be matched, but then along comes this stunning work of majestic and crushing beauty. Wipes the floor with most everything else. Favorite track: Part Island.

about

On fourth album Part Island Latitudes weave emotive metallic power and dream-state vulnerability - summoning a new level of melodicism through cast-iron, heartfelt songcraft.

Foregrounding vocals on every album track for the first time in the band’s 12 years, Part Island is a dynamic collection unashamedly brim-filled with sadness and regret.

Helmed by a performance of sheer naked honesty from vocalist Adam Symonds, the record incorporates acoustic guitar, piano and analogue synth within flowing volleys of melodic black metal, weighty contemplative doom and the wide-ranging wistfulness of indie, folk and shoegaze songwriting.

Political and personal, concerned with the mysteries of love and islands literal and self-created, this is a record about dissolution, leaving, reaching an end without ever truly knowing why.

Track Name: Underlie
This is the River

Nothing
But itself

This is the Well

Elemental
Mysteries

We carry them with us
We can never tear them away

We flow away
Track Name: Moorland Is The Sea
Keep the heathens at the door
Dim the light of the fire, till the fire is null
Keep the women by the shore
In the morning my love, your fire is gone

In the morning my love

Never trust the sea, never
Moorland is the sea
Did you wish to go, gently?
Give me one more year

Leave the heathens at the door
Dim the light of the fire, of our eyes, our sun
Keep the women by the shore
In the morning my love, a memorial

In the morning my love
A memorial

Never trust the sea, never
Moorland is the sea
Did you wish to go, gently?
Give me one more year

Moorland is the sea

I‘m lost
You know why
Track Name: Dovestone
You wanted to walk
To the top
Of the mountain

To belong to someone
You belong to someone

Any ground
You’ll eventually unearth bones

Towering outcrop
Millstone-grit

Edge of the dark peak
Gullies and hollows
Conscious of violence
Gullies and hollows

Any ground
You’ll eventually unearth bones

Towering outcrop
Millstone-grit

Gullies and hollows

As night fell
The birds would have been silent
But the sound
Never ceases

You lie beneath the millstone sky
Track Name: Fallowness
Take off your shoes
Leave them by the door
And mind your feet
On the holes and the cracks in the floor
Walk to me
You’re mine to rest
On the splinters, on the broken glass
And that crooked bench

In the depth,
In the sunken cliffs
Our fallowness

Lain in wait
To ambush me
Most of my life

Take all your light
Leave it by the door
And slow your fire
In the circle of standing stone
Walk to me
Erase your name
In the weird depths, in the sunken cliff
Our fallowness

In the depths
In the sunken cliff
Our fallowness

Lain in wait
To ambush me
Most of my life

Why is there nothing
Where there should be something?

To ambush me
Most of my life
Track Name: The Great Past
Two drop from the sky
Your paradise and mine
Fallen in our prime

Grind the skin
From the earth

Crawl back inside
Your paradise and mine
Fallen in our prime

Throw up our hands
Beautiful-eyed
Heavy with dreams
Beneath our feet

Two fall from the sky
Your paradise and mine

Tear the skin
From the earth

To the great past
That bore our dreams
Buried in walls
That bore our dreams

Throw up our hands
Beautiful-eyed
(There is an angel)
Heavy with dreams
Beneath our feet

To the great past
That bore our dreams
Track Name: Part Island
Hollow earth at my feet
Born of the land and swept to the sea by the river
Restless man, when do you sleep?

No kings have I
No borders holding me

Hollow earth at my feet
Born of the land and swept to the sea by the river
Restless man, when do you sleep?

No king am I
No kings have I

Bury me right there, right there
Carry me right there, right there
